Jim's method is a good start, but use a smaller bit, then after you let the vinegar work..( or DeGlue Goo), screw a 1 5/8" drywall screw into the hole and take a claw hammer and a piece of scrap wood and pry out the plug like pulling a nail.It is extremely difficult to remove any type of plug to be able to reuse it...so count on replacing them...and allowing for the time to do so in the estimate!
