In Response To: Waterfall Dresser Crack (Holli Gribbons)

There isn't a lot you can do for this problem. I guess that from you explanation I would suggest filling the crack with Liquid Hide Glue. Fill the gap with as much clue as it will absorb, wipe away the excess with some warm water on a rag. Push the surronding parts together in what ever way that they will flex in order to get the split to absorb all the glue it will. If the split will close with any pressure from your hand it will ooze out more glue, this is a good sign, try to hold that spot together with clamps or heavy wieght. Wipe off any glue that has squezed out and rub the surronding area with paste wax, place a piece of waxed paper over the surface befor adding the pressure and give 12 hours to set. Clean off any excess glue and sand lightly to smooth the damaged area, now go ahead and use a good oil base paint.
