Hi.. I am the owner of an Antique Shop and have sold several pieces of Tell City Furniture. Most of the furniture I have sold has been the Solid Maple with the andover finish.
This weekend I attended an auction with 2 items marked Tell City Chair Company on the inside of the drawer. The pieces looked new. One was a server or small buffet with a marble top that appeared to be an oak finish.
The other was a tressle table (dining table) with drawers that pulled out on both sides. On the inside of the drawer it was marked Tell City Chair co. The table came with 4 cane bottom chairs that were not maked. Generally Tell City puts a label on the bottom of the chair. Again these items looked new.
The burned in Tell City stamp on the inside of the drawers did not look the quality of Tell City Furniture.
Is there a difference in Tell City Furniture and Tell City Chair Company? Please provide informattion.
Thank You Debbie
