Just a thought in hind sight, some finishes may interfear with the previous coat. This will cause a severe varigation and leave the finish wrinkled and rough. To avoid this look for a hidden spot where one can place a small amount of the desired new coat to safely observe the drying action with no visable damage to the rest of the finish.
