ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Price for claw foot oak table

I found your discussion group and thought somebody might have an opinion to share: I know little about antiques. I have a 42" oak table with claw feet, toe nails and all. I believe the wood is called quarter sawn. I am not sure how old it is but know it predates the Depression. The finish is a bit marred, but original. I don't have the leaves. A dealer is coming to my home to look at it? What might be a fair price and what are the criteria? The same dealer has another item I like and might be willing to trade. Would I get a better value that way? Thanks for any advice you would like to send my way.
