In Response To: Formby's Face Lift (Michael)

Michael, Formby's is OK, but in my opinion, it's way over priced for what you get. I get excellent cleaning results from the following. It's simple and inexpensive.

Pour some ordinary Mineral Spirits (Paint Thinner) into a small bowl. Dip a wad of 0000 steel wool into the spirits and wring out as much access you can with one hand. (You might consider wearing some rubber gloves.) Wipe the cabinet (with the grain) with about as much force as you would with your kitchen counter. This will remove old wax, finger prints, and all that yuckey stuff. Wipe with a dry clean cloth immediately. The finish will appear dull, but the luster can be restored with a good cream furniture polish. Guardsman is a good brand. (Don't use Pledge or Endust.)
