Dear Jim,

I cleaned the chair and got the paint spots off. There are small spots where the finish has been removed. I took your advice and visited the Touch Up Depot Website. I think I should use a wax filling stick for these spots, but it says that afterwards I should top coat these spots with the appropriate finish. How can I figure out what the appropriate finish is...shellac, varathane, etc? The chair is Mission style oak and approximately from the '30s or '40s.

Thanks!
