Repairing Watermark On Antique Tube Console Radio

I have a GE E-106 Console Tube Radio That Has A Large Watermark On The Top That Covers The Whole Top. I want to do this without refinishing the whole radio if possible. It has small scratches here and there but, I hope that I can match the color of the stain to repair these scratches. I not sure if I should replace the top with new matching veneer or try fixing the spot. There is a crack down the middle of the top that water seeped under the veneer surface and raised it up enough to crack it. I have put a photo of this on my webpage at http://mrphoto.50megs.com on the Photo Page # 2. This page shows all the bad spots on the radio. The radio does work but, needs a new cord and plug but, I want to get it looking good and fix the spot but, not sure what to do. Can You Help With Info On This.
