ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

old hide-a-bed "Davenette"

I recently acquired a small sette and two rockers that match. It is oak vaneer on the sides and sold oak on the arms and legs. Looks like maybe a arts and crafts design. The sette has a hide-a-bed. On the back is a blue paper tag that is partially missing that says. "The Old Reliable" Davenette Suite Knox Upholstery Co. High Point, NC. Does anyone have any idea where I can find more info on this type of furniture? I would like to know the approx. date and possibly some pictures of the same type of set. This set was obviously out in a barn or something. It is very dirty and the upholstery is in very bad shape. It looks like some type of faux leather. I am planning on refinishing the set. Any info on these items would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Patricia
