I've inhereted an antique music cabinet and would like to clean it up to use it. The mirror is filthy and there is newspaper covering the top of the cabinet and parts of the mirror frame. I want to take the paper off, but I'm afraid I'll take off the finish becuase it is really dried on. I was thinking of refinishing it anyway, but I wanted to see the original finish to be able to match it. Will I ever be able to restore the original mirror to be usable? It is really cloudy looking. How do I get the paper off? Besides soap and water, is there anything else you recommend to clean it?
