ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

broken antique charis

I've recently inherited 2 antique chairs that have been in my family for generations.

The wood on one piece is severly cracked. I think that at one point, the back of the chair fell off, and someone (probably my grandfather) tried to fix it.

The arm of the other chair has been recently broken by a family member.

These chairs mean a lot to me and are the only things I have from my grandparents. I'm trying to find someone who's able to repair/restore these chairs to their original states. Is there someone you'd recommend?

I live in Cleveland, Ohio and have little knowledge of this subject matter. Any input/advice you would have would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Cindy Cominsky
