What should I do with the horsehair? I asked my grown son how comfortable this sofa has been for him through the years. He said he didn't like to sit on it as a kid because "stickery things" kept poking him. He's talking about the horsehair that kept working its way to the surface. When you say keep the springs and horsehair, would it be OK to keep them somewhere outside of the sofa?

I sat on the sofa yesterday, and am thinking that the back might benefit from soft coil springs -- because I have to lean back in order for my back to reach the back of the sofa.
