ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

antique highchair

When my husbands grandfather passed away, we found his high chair. This chair is wood w/a cane seat. It has a high back w/spindles & carving on the head rest. The unusual part of it is that it adjusts high and low. High for eating at table height and low - like for a childs chair. It has 2 metal wheels. Unfortunately, Grandad took it apart and started refinishing it before he passed away. Since he already has most of the varnish off of it. What would our best course of action be, to complete this and not destroy anymore of the value of the item. He was born in 1907, so it is nearly 100 years old. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
