veneer bubbles

I had a discussion with an individual on how to remove bubbles in veneer. He said he uses a product called Zap glue. He slits the veneer, applies the Zap glue, it wicks under the veneer and then uses a hot clothes iron to iron down the veneer. He said he gets an instant bond. Have you ever heard of this process? If so, is it better that PVA glue? What would the proces for the Zap be--time, temp. etc.
