Back again, Jim. I have spoken to the chap at my local paint shop and he tells me I will never get the original shiny, dark mahogany finish back. Surely this isn't true. I am at the point where I have stripped the table completely. Can you help me with the following: *Must I use a conditioner in order to even out the wood and prevent blotching? *Can I obtain the original color by layering dark walnut over mahogany minwax? *Do you recommend shellac rather than a polyurethane finish? Sorry for all the questions but your knowledge is hugely helpful. Thanks again. Barbara
