Any good grade of oil base exterior enamel should work fine for painting the sleigh. Check carefully be fore sanding to see if the sleigh ic covered with cloth. Many of them were and the cloth may have to be replace to porvied a good surface for the paint. If it is not covere with cloth a light snding with 220 grit paper should give enough "tooth" for the new paint to bond. ONce it is sanded dust well and then wash to remove any grease or oil. The runners can probably be cleande with a steel brush and polished with emery cloth. If they were originally painted, automotive paint over auto primer should bond well.
