My husband I have recently purchased an antique Albany cutter sleigh. This is our first attempt at working on a sleigh. My husband does carpentry work so it isn't a matter of doing the work as much as neding to know what products to use. It has it's original coat of paint showing but it definitely needs repainting, so my question is should we sand the body down and what type of paint will give it a finish that will tolerent the outdoors? Also, how should we go about taking the rust off and refinishing the runners? This beautiful sleigh is now sitting in my front living room waiting for a makeover. Any advice you can lend will be greatlappreciated.
