Furniture Restoration

I have a Victorian Mahogany Table and Cherry wood Desk. They are covered with nicotine, grease from fried food, dust from years of no cleaning and dog and cat hair. I have washed them with murphy's oil soap in warm water. This helped to rid them of the odor they carried. However, they still look bad. I don't know what to do from here to restore them as I have seen other restored furniture look great. How do they do it?
