melted shellac on veneer dining table

I served Christmas brunch and put hot dishes on pot holders instead of trivets. When I pulled off the table cloth to launder it I noticed that it stuck slightly on the spots where I had the hot dishes setting on the potholders. I tried to rub the spots out with lemon and orange oil but it seems that I have kind of melted the shellac. You can even still see the fabric pattern on the spots. Do I need to completely refinish the entire table or is there something that will just take care of the bad spots?
