That depends on the size of the item you want to age. I have used a product called patina blue or patina green, which is a mixed bottle of chemicals which will give you that old copper roof colour-greeny-blue and mottled. For smaller items like hardware--brace yourself--bury it in the cat box for a day or more. Then wash it well (as if i have to add that) The ammonia and urea and other nice things in there will impart very interesting aged tones. Good luck.
