ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Cedar Chest

I recently purchased an old cedar chest from my in-laws estate. It still smells of cedar on the inside but I might lightly sand it to bring out more of the cedar smell. The problem is that it has been in the basement for years and the wood is dry. I think the whole chest is made of cedar. How can I bring the wood back to life without refinishing it?
