If the stuff was a home made mixure I would take what's left to a well trained refinisher to distill the possible ingredents. Right off I wonder if there may be some parrafin oil and a little pumice or rottenstone inside? Even bakin soda will work well and is fery fine and leaves the brighter shine of the three.
