In Response To: Removing mold from wood (Emily)

If there is no finish under the table I would clean it off with Household Amonia, 1/4 cup in a half gallon of warm water. If a finish is present the same ratio of bleach and warm water will work. Scrub with a green scouring pad and rinse with clean water, towel dry right away and use a light fan to air the remaining moisture away. Apply a light coat of shellac when dry, to prevent the mildew from returning.
