The damaged molding would be best repaired with similar wood of close to the same age. I have scarfed in such material and shaped it to match and then stained and finished to hide the repair. The finish can be cleaned with naptha and the dings touched up with an artist brush and similar stain. After rubbing with #0000 steel wool use a tolulene free paste wax and polish. The mirrors can be resilvered on antiques that are not historically significant without harming their value. Just let the buyer know that you have done so.
