I have been given an antique childs roll top desk with matching chair. In shipping it to me the roll top was broken, corrugated wood has come apart, how can I fix this? Just one strip all the way across so it is separated from the rest and therefore you cannot roll the top up and down. Also what is the best way to clean this furniture, it was varnished but some has cracked off and the furniture is very dirty, has been in an attic for nearly 60 years. I would like to clean it up and give it to my granddaughter to use. Also should I be concerned about using it now after sitting for so long, I believe this desk is probably 80 yrs. old. Should the joints be repaired in any way. Chair appears to be wobbly. Any advise is certianly appreciated. Thank you!
