ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Old money.. Wooden Board

Ok.. I am sorry if this is in the wrong place.. but I didn't know where else to post for help.

I was recently given some old monies by and elderly gentleman.

They had been passed down his family lines for a few generations.

They are some confederate dollar bills and such.

The problem is, somewhere along the line they got "glued" (at this point I am guessing) to a old ugly wooden board. Then on top of that was placed a plactic/waxy coating. I am not 100% sure what this coating is.. it is almost like plastice but it seems that it may be some type of wax.

Any how I am looking to remove this coating with out damaging the monies. So that I may then be able to remove the monies from the board.

I would like to display them in another type of framing on my wall.

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful on how to get this done or any resources I can find.

Thanks Billie
