I found a hickory rocker in my mothers basement recently that belonged to her father's family. It probably dates back to the early 1900's. Unfortunately the rocker has been thru a flood at my mothers house. The rocker has caked on mud and mildew. I applied a mild cleanser to the rocker to remove the mud and mildew but you can still see and feel more residue. The color also is very dull looking now. What can I use to remove the rest of the residue and what should I use to stain it? Thanks for your help
