In Response To: Brass Bed Questions (Tonya)

I use a liquid called Tarnex to remove most tarnish from brass. I polish with Never Dull and Semi Chrome. Wear gloves at this time and wrap polished parts in news paper till you are ready to finish, a patina will slowly appear, so you can wait till you are satisfied. Oh yeah, did I say you should take the bed apart? When the bed is really bad I disassemble the whole thing so that the job is even all over. Using gloves, put it back together and wipe it down with paint thinner. Now get some Lacquer for Brass, if you want a perment no fuss bright shiney finish, most lacquer dries too fast and will not dry clear. Spray on a couple coats and you are done, Yea!
