In Response To: Remove (to clean) lock plunger & strikeplate? (lee)

Not an expert but Every lock I've seen is "Peened" over on its cover and probably be distroyed if pryed apart. If it works , I'd leave it alone. If its hard to turn the mechanism with a key (unless its the wrong key) spray some of the new slide cleaner spray into the lock, even a little "WD 40" could help. Keep in mind that the tracks the drawer slides on could be worn or warped causing the lock/strike plate to be out of alignment. Van Dykes 1-800-558-1234 , sells a line of replacements.
