IF the frame is gilded you probably will need to take it to someone who know how to gild. If the frame is painted you can probably repair it by filling the missing areas with spackling compound then sanding to 600 grit then applying gesso saniding to 600 and painting in the missing spots with gold paint that matches the existing color. If it needs cleaning and it is painted soap and water should work well. If it is gilded take it to a pro. Golden Artist Paints sheih is online can furnish you acrylic golds and gesso.
