Lacquer is a very "repairable" finish and damage like this can often be fixed especially if no color was removed with the lacquer. The edges of the damage can be feathered with 400 grit wet/dy paper and lacquer sprayed over the entire top to rebuild the finish then polished with 0000 steel wool for a satin finish.
