I'am not certain what water guilding is ,but have restored many old broken up frames. Picture or mirror frames are about the same. Usually , unless I end up airbrushing the whole frame to match , I find mixing "rub on " metalic colors will come close to the original patina for small areas.Repair of frames not that difficult. Even if you have to mold additional parts .I'd be happy to share ideas with you.I'am located in SW ohio ,near Dayton . P.S beside actual gold leaf, the golds available are either paint/spray, ink powdered for mixing with glazes or other paint bases or the rub on type. None of these will mimic the origional if gold was used.Email is PeteandDawnie@aol.com
