Barbara, The other postings on this board recommend to remove the old canvas backing and glue with warm water and warm vinegar (50-50). Reglue on a canvas backing with hide glue(see other Rolltop postings). About the price,I also have a turn of the century Rolltop, unless the prices have dropped dramaticly everyone I have see like mine on E-bay has been priced at $900 to $1500. Are you sure you are not looking at reproductions.
