Most leather tops have been clear coated and if you are lucky most of the damage you are seeing is in the clear coat. First ry washing wiht soap and water rinse and wipe dry. If that does not help with the damage try 0000 steel wool and paste wax to see if it will rub out. If neither works then you will have to remove the finish and get to the leather to repair the damage. I use denatured alcohol on a cotton rag keep the rag we, but not dripping work carefully in small circles over the entire surface turning the rag to a clean surface when it gets discolored. Once the finish is removed the leather can be dyed or stained to conceal the damage and then clear coated with lacquer to protect.
