ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Spool bed

I recently aquired an old 3/4 spool bed which I would love to make into a twin for my granddaughter's room. Any suggestions? It is a typical style with spool spindles along the inside of the head and footboards, the tops of the head and footboards go almost into a peak with a spool piece along the top piece. This runs the whole length of the top. The sides are also spool and the centre pieces fitted into them. The very bottom of the head and footboard are attached with wooden plugs. I hope you can help me. If needed I have a picture of a similar one from the web.

Thanks, Ann
