ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Webbing

Trying to figure out how webbing is attached to an old Rocker. There are slots 2 inches long by 1/4 inch wide. These slots are located on the edge of the seat (face up), they do not go through the wood, therefore the webbing seem to pop into the chair. This is a real old Rocker and is made of possibly red pine. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks Respectfully Jim Martell
