Thank you Jim, I keep telling a friend of mine who puts vegetable oil on the cutting board that mineral oil is the only one that should be used. Mineral Oil is refined and contains no vegetation residue, regardless of how much the vegetable oil is refined, microscopic vegetation is still in the oil. When it is used for a cutting board it literally "rot's" into microscopic fungus. By the way, it is also good for seasoning iron frying pans instead of lard or other oil's. You can cause serious illness by using it and not even know where it came from. I scub mine with a bruch and bleach, rinse in hot water and season it everytime I use it. Just a technical reason why other oils should NOT be used.
