I have a lovely old wood tray with a glass liner (probably 1900-1920) that I want to get into in order to replace what is under the glass, but don't know how. The tray (serpentine shaped) has a solid wood back that has been glued on. There are no nails or screws to remove. The tray is in good condition and does not need to be refinished. Is there any way I can soften & remove the glue without harming the tray's finish?
