In Response To: Crib repair/timber joining. (Mr. T.)

I would run the battens as you laid them out on ght google site. Glue them with a reversible glue like hide or white glue. If the surfaces are well mated between the batten and crib end a few clamps will hold them until the glue has developed full strength. The lengthwise boards can be glue to the batten with a couple of screws in each or cut nails. since this piece has already been cobbled up the best you can do is try not to cause any more damage while achieving a useable piece.
