When you are working on a large area you break it down into amall sections and work an overlapping pattern until the entire surface is covered. When you have the entire area, like a table top done let it dry overnight. You need to be careful with following coats if you get it too wet you can tear the entire coating and have to start over with naked wood. I would suggest that you get one of the instruction books and video. Jeff Jewitt at Homestead Finishing has good ones.
