In Response To: Wood Dresser/Smell (Eryn)

Wipe out the drawers with a 50/50 solution of bleach-water. Nutralize with a mild white vinigar solution, and wipe dry. Apply a thick layer of dry baking soda and let stand or place in plastic bags (depending on the odor) and let absorb for a week. Dump the baking soda, and shop vac.Lightly sand and tack cloth the drawers. Apply a one pound cut amber or clear shellac spit coat. Wax with clear or colored wax and 000 steel wool. This has worked well for me.
