Even though wood is dead, it still moves and breaths. I would be very concerned and would probably bet on it that your furniture will expand and contract as the temp and humidity fluxuate. Cracks in the timber would form and smaller cracks will get larger. You may not be able to afford to store it but you must ask yourself, can you afford to ruin it. Good luck.
