ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

wicker restoration

I have purchased a wicker lounge chair that is very dry and would like some suggestions on preserving this piece. I recently hosed it off and brushed dirt off with a mild soap solution. I want a natural look and was wondering if there is something I could do so it's not so dry. Could I put mineral oil on it; should I lacquer it; varnish it? Appreciate any recommendations and/or cautions. Thank you.
