ANTIQUE FURNITURE RESTORATION DISCUSSION BOARD

Drop leaf table

Here's the scenerio: I found an antique drop leaf table in the garbage and I want to restore it.

It has two problems that I need help with. #1 the hinge on on side of table has broken off slightly chipping the wood in that area. I believe the hinge is still intact and only needs new screws, but I'm not sure what to do about the chipped area if I try to reattach the hinge.

#2 the table has two pedestal legs with two clawlike feet on each pedestal. One of the claw feet has been broken off.

Any suggestions on what to about these problems would be helpful. Or should I take it to a professional (cost?)?
