It certainly sounds like it. RH (relative humidity) should ideally be 50-55% for good wood conservation, but even more important is that it is steady. A big difference between daytime and nighttime conditions like you describe is unacceptable. You should either place a bucket of water next to it during the day (tackle the symptom) or get some heating equipment that can operate round the clock (tackle the cause). Start by buying a simple RH meter, that is no great investment. From summery England, Ivo.
