I have to restore some turn of the century pieces of funiture that is made of quarter sawn oak and has a lot of carvings on them. The pieces have been acually coated with a high gloss finish several years ago. My question is are there any steamers out there that will make the job easier and if not what is the best way to remove the (what I think is polyurathene) and stain so that I don't have to hand sand all of the carvings. (and there are alot of carvings on these pieces)
