I have a question if anyone can help thanks. I have a pair of victorian era doors that are 100 years old. I want to use them in the house as doors to a new media room. I had a guy offer to restore them for $2500. He said they were great collectable doors and I should keep them as antiques. Would it not hurt the door to restor them to me its sorta defeating the purpose of the antique. I would like to clean them up a bit there are some minor scratches and 2 or 3 spots that need to be filled. They are heavy mohagany(sp) with old etched glass. I am just wondering if its a good idea to have him strip the old and make it look new. Would it not lose its antique quality??? thanks
