In Response To: berkley and gay (Lisa)

I have a Berkley & Gay antique bedroom suite that Governor Clyde Roark Hoey of North Carolina (1937-1941) gave to his daughter on her 16th birthday. It has highly carved, impressive ornate woodworking with a beautiful floral design. The handles have a rectangle insert of a greenish-to-torquoise plate with a smaller orange-looking center. I'm not sure of the kind of wood it is but think it is mahogany There is a bed with a beautiful headboard that has two posters and the footboard with smaller posters. There is a dressing table style vanity with center mirror and two pedestal style legs(one on each side)that has a matching rectangle bench. Finally, there is a five-drawer chest-of-drawers on legs. Could you give me any information on the age and value of my furniture? Thanks. Judy C. Williams
