The best way is to use a wet dry sand paper, say 600 grit, and water. Sprinkle the water on the painted surface and then sand down to the original colors, just above the wood. Do this on the door, right in the middle and you may find the stencil pattern that may have been placed there as well. If you should find this pattern, take a picture with a good digital camera, so you can make a copy and stencil. Then get back to me and I will explain how to create a good copy on the final coat of paint.
